A lot of people have lost their lives because of the ongoing coronavirus pandemic. But, we have also seen a good number of people recovering from the virus and being sent home.
Lloyd Falk, a 100-year-old WWII veteran from Virginia is one among millions who have recovered from COVID-19.
On Tuesday, March 24, Lloyd was admitted at Henrico Doctors’ Hospital after he tested positive for coronavirus disease.
As per the hospital, Lloyd lost his loving wife of 74 years to the disease soon after he was admitted.
But, Lloyd continued to stay strong and fought the disease for 58-days. He finally overcame the virus that has since claimed over 353,000 lives.
“Continued to stay strong, defying the odds and surviving his fight,” the hospital posted on their Facebook page.
Lloyd’s daughter said in the video: “I really thought so many times he was gone, I really did — and he just popped back up!”
When the time for the Veteran to be discharged came, he was ushered out by a line of staff clapping and wishing him well as he was wheeled out on a gurney.
The hospital said in its video caption: “We salute you, Mr. Falk. Your courage and resilience inspire us all. You know where to find us if you need us.”
We send prayers to Lloyd and his family as he tries to cope with the loss of his wife. May God give him comfort at this difficult time.
